Reunion Reception

Tonight I meet up with dozens of old friends from my teenage years, growing up in New York City. Despite us all being "military brats" who were accustomed to relocating every few years, most of my fellow "brats" settled in the East, not too far from the Big Apple.

We had a fantastic reunion at a reception hall in the Hotel Pennsylvania (33rd Street at 7th Avenue, right across from Madison Square Garden), drinking, eating, laughing, and reconnecting after so many years.

Tomorrow we take a trip back to the unique place we lived -- a secure little island off the southern tip of Manhattan.

Here are a few photos of me with some old friends. (I was on the other side of a camera most of the night!) The first photo is former roller skating queen Lynn and me; the second photo is me and former Leif Garrett lookalike Steve; the third photo is me and Dawn, still the party girl; the fourth photo is me and Dawn (and a couple other pals) -- from 1977. Funny how Dawn and I pose for the camera in the same wrist-on-the-shoulder way almost 30 years later!

Lynn and FT FT and Steve FT and Dawn FT and Dawn and David and Robert - 1977!

I love seeing the "old" picture and the new. I'm always fascinated how people age over time and trying to see who they were in who they are now. Hope you had a great reunion!

VV ~ It was a blast. I wish I had more time to recreate old photos of the same people, same pose, but decades later. I like those type of photos too!

Miz B ~ WOW! San Francisco is missing you too! "You've got to get back to your city by the bay..." Will you be my yoga teacher when you're back?
