Summer concert season continues ... Tomorrow night it's
Crosby Stills Nash & Young in nearby Concord. I'm looking forward to the great live show these guys put on, both the old classics and especially the new songs from Neil Young's
Living With War. A politically charged show is expected; after all, this is their "
Freedom Of Speech '06" tour,
and this is the
Bay Area.

Today, I mentioned to a young acquaintance that I was going to see
Crosby Stills Nash & Young on Tuesday. She thought I was talking about a
law firm. Poor girl.

Oh, man, you lucky dog! In the early '70s those guys were gods to me, and I wore out two copies of Four Way Street on vinyl before getting the CD when it came out — it's still one of my favourite albums every released. (I did see Stephen Stills play at U of FL when I was there, and was so upset that he was not on his game then. He forgot the words to Helplessly Hoping when he tried to sing it, and had to give up.)
Enjoy the concert, and please report on it here!
i have heard of this band, but have not actually heard them.
hope you have fun tonight!
wow! awesome!! lucky you!!! :-)
I'm still laughing...she must be a Gen Xer, or maybe even younger. Who could mistake these four creative geniuses for lawyers?
Great to see you're still blogging with creativity and a sense of irony.
Barry ~ I'm with you. CSNY are gods to me too, or at least minor deities! And I share your love of Four Way Street, one of my favorite live albums and a true snapshot of 1971. You'll be happy to know that Stills was in top form Tuesday night, as was Nash, Crosby, and Young. I'll post a review shortly .. I'm still worn out by the intense three hour show!
Amera ~ I bet you've heard them on the radio ... CSNY -- together and solo -- have many hits.
Karen ~ It was an awesome concert! Look for a post as soon as I recover!
Brain Dancer ~ It may have been the first time she ever heard the words Crosby Stills Nash & Young. Unlike us, she obviously has not lived a very full life!
I don´t know them :o(
Neil Young's new album is very intense. I was listening to it in a music store the other day, and I kept thinking..."Wow, the old dog has still got it!"
Not that there was any doubt of that.
Whoa Free. Wayback Wed has come and gone and nary a post? What gives?
Eyes ~ Well, then, allow me to introduce you to CSN&Y! Open your ears and enjoy!
Paula ~ Neil's still got it. I love "Living With War." It's a crude and quickly made album that recycles his older song structures, but that's part of its magic.
Radio ~ I know, I know ... the CSN&Y concert review post comes first. I'll post a Wayback Wednesday in a bit. I dig your latest Wayback Wednesday. (But we just might come to fisticuffs over who gets to lay hands on Carol van Dijk from Bettie Serveert !)
